Exhibition: Chapel (29-07-2008)

Chapel: a photographic exhibition exploring the fate
of Welsh chapels and what this tells us about today's Wales. In The Open University in Wales, 18 Custom House Street, Cardiff CF10 1AP (tel. 029 2047 1019) throughout August. The exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00.

National Eisteddfod Lecture (03-07-2008)

The Capel Lecture will be given on Friday 8 August at 12.00 in the Societies Tent (Pabell y Cymdeithasau). The lecturer is Professor John Gwynfor Jones and his topic is:
Ministers of the Faith and Welsh Civic Consciousness in Cardiff c.1880-1939.

The lecture will be in Welsh but a simultaneous translation service into English will be available.


Autumn Meeting in Newtown (03-07-2008)

A meeting will be held in Newtown on Saturday 11 October 2008. The day will include the Capel AGM, a lecture and a visit to chapels in the town. Details will be sent to members with the next Newsletter in September.


Exhibtion in Llangollen (03-07-2008)

Tin Tabernacles: Corrugated Iron Mission Halls, Churches and Chapels of Britain.
An exhibition of photographs by Ian Smith, organised by the English Methodist Church, will be held in the Memorial Hall, Market Street, Llangollen 16-30 August 2008.
Open: Monday - Saturday 10 - 12 am and 2 - 4 pm.
Entry free. Refreshments available.
